Overview
The Master of Science - Applied Artificial Intelligence covers the full spectrum of modern AI, from foundational principles to advanced applications. Students will explore agentic systems, machine learning, natural language processing, analytics, autonomous decision-making, AI engineering and ethical governance frameworks.
Students will learn how AI is designed, built and applied – and how it drives change across organisations and society. Flexible pathways let them specialise in Strategy and Leadership, Analytics and Business Transformation, Development and Ethics, or Engineering and Systems, preparing them to lead, build and govern real-world AI solutions with confidence.
This programme offers flexible full-time and part-time study options, allowing learners to balance academic commitments with professional and personal responsibilities. It is designed to develop the capability to lead in an AI-driven world, equipping individuals with the knowledge required to support organisations through rapid technological advancements. A strong foundation is built in core AI methodologies, including algorithms, analytics, machine learning, natural language processing, and agentic AI systems.
The curriculum also focuses on enhancing strategic, organisational, and leadership competencies through pathways suitable for both technical and non-technical backgrounds. It provides insights into how artificial intelligence drives digital transformation, along with practical understanding of designing, deploying, and managing AI solutions within real-world organisational contexts. Learners gain applied expertise in data quality, curation, analysis, and decision-making, which are essential to modern AI workflows.
In addition, the programme addresses the ethical, regulatory, and societal implications of AI, covering areas such as fairness, transparency, and responsible implementation. Academic support is delivered through small class sizes, direct engagement with experienced faculty, and personalised guidance throughout the learning journey. A distinctive Postgraduate In-the-Field Experiential Project enables hands-on industry exposure, offering real-world responsibilities and structured feedback.
Studying in London provides access to a global hub for AI innovation, policy, and industry, along with opportunities to connect with leading organisations and professional networks. Upon completion, graduates are well-prepared for advanced roles, equipped with the technical, analytical, and leadership skills required to succeed in the evolving AI sector.
