The Juris Doctor – Migration Law is a professional law degree that provides comprehensive legal education with opportunities to develop specialized knowledge of immigration, refugee, citizenship and migration law. Students build a strong foundation in core legal areas such as constitutional law, contracts, criminal law, property law, torts, administrative law, legal ethics, and legal research and writing.
The migration law focus explores topics such as visa and residency frameworks, refugee protection, citizenship, border regulation, administrative decision-making, human rights and judicial review. Through case analysis, advocacy exercises, practical assignments and experiential learning, students develop skills in legal reasoning, client communication, negotiation, research and professional practice.
Graduates may pursue careers in immigration and refugee law, government agencies, migration consultancy, community legal services, policy development, advocacy and international organizations. Completion of the degree does not automatically authorize legal practice; graduates must satisfy the licensing and professional admission requirements of the relevant jurisdiction.
