Technological and cultural innovation over the past several years have led to an astronomical increase in data and our ability to utilize it as a more objective, decision-making tool in business.
Mercy College’s B.S. in Data Analytics provides students with the understanding and skills they need to compete in the 21st century’s data-driven business environment.
Students will interact with faculty members actively working in the industry in order to develop applied skills in working with data to generate solid business insights and strategies.
At the end of this program, students should be able to:
• Establish and utilize analytical frameworks for isolating insights from data • Orally and visually communicate complex quantitative data for informative purposes and persuasive purposes • Recognize ethical issues in data collection, manipulation and interpretation • Demonstrate an understanding of data modeling, predictive analytics and forecasting • Utilize various technological platforms (Excel, SQL, Tableau, R, etc.) in exploratory analytics • Demonstrate an understanding of how data is used and managed throughout an organization
