Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Sound Engineering (HH36)

The BSc (Hons) Sound Engineering at the University of West London is one of the only courses in the UK with full accreditation from the Institute of Engineering and Technology and combines vocational study with academic theory to give students a strong start in a sound engineering career.

In the first year, students will cover the fundamentals of sound, audio electronics, programming, recording and production, and critical listening, along with the mathematics that underpins these subjects. In the second year, students will explore wider applications of sound engineering across different domains, developing skills with tools and techniques that enhance their engineering capabilities. By the third year, students will have developed a wide range of marketable skills and will apply them in different environments, including completing a major project of their own choosing to showcase their abilities.

Students will graduate with strong technical expertise and knowledge of both the music and engineering industries, enhancing their employability across these sectors.

During their studies, students will have access to one of the largest audio complexes in Europe, including more than 20 studios, as well as teaching rooms, laboratories and computer suites.
