Program Description For students who hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, but don’t meet the entry requirements for a master’s, a Pre-Master’s can help them gain a place on a postgraduate degree. For progression to the 1st year of a postgraduate degree at City, University of London. The course length is determined mainly by English language level (UKVI IELTS score).

Students on all course lengths take a set of common or similar modules to gain a solid base of skills for university. If the course is longer than 2 terms, students will take additional modules designed to improve one or more of their English language level, academic skills, and basic knowledge of particular subjects.

Master of Arts - Global Creative Industries

This MA will suit anyone aiming to build a career in any aspect of film, music, art or related creative industry at a global level; to work in government or international organisations concerned with creative industries or the creative economy nationally or internationally; and anyone looking to broaden their horizons or impact in the cultural and creative industries sector.

The course will enable students to both explore the development of the global creative industries at global level, their trajectory, the tensions and challenges arising from these; and examine the organisation, characteristics and issues emerging in the creative and cultural industries in specific areas of the world, and will help students to develop an understanding of how local, regional and world processes interact.

Students will be taught by world leading researchers in the international creative economy, culture, media and communication, and global political economy based in the Centre for Culture and the Creative Industries, the Departments of Sociology, and International Politics. This research expertise consistently informs City's outstanding teaching in this area of studies.
