Tacoma Community College
The Associate of Science in Mechanical, Civil, Aeronautical, Industrial or Material Science Engineering is a state-recognized Major Related Program (MRP) designed for students who plan to transfer to a Bachelor of Science degree program at a four-year college or university. Entry into many engineering programs is competitive, and students are urged to work closely with TCC advisors and university advisors to ensure all entry requirements are met.
Engineers design, test, analyze and inspect new products and systems. The types of products vary by industry and engineering specialty: • Aeronautical Engineers design aircraft, satellites, and spacecraft • Civil Engineers design roads, bridges, and tunnels • Mechanical Engineers design mechanical parts and systems • Industrial Engineers oversee production to effectively manage people and equipment • Materials Science Engineers work with metals, ceramics, plastics and semi-conductors to develop new materials
Students can earn an associate degree to transfer to a Washington state public university. At TCC, there are three separate pathways within this MRP depending on the desired engineering major.
The requirements for this course are not published yet. Ask us and we will confirm them with the university.
Tell us, and a consultant will go through the entry requirements with you, work out what you already have and what is missing, and take the application from there.
