This major in environmental geological sciences focuses on the interactions between solid Earth and the atmosphere and hydrosphere, including ground water, soils, and climate. The BS program builds on a solid foundation in allied sciences and math and prepares students for graduate school and a variety of careers in the environmental and geological sciences, including environmental consulting and water resources. Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to: • Describe and justify appropriate methods to collect and analyze data to address questions about the Earth system • Apply understanding of Earth processes to develop sustainable solutions to societal issues • Collect environmental data to inform management practices for environmental issues
