Overview

The Undergraduate Foundation Program in Business, Economics, Finance and Management is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to a wide range of undergraduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.

The Foundation portion of this program lasts one academic year (nine months). The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

There are four academic pathways to choose from and candidates will study the pathway most suited to their chosen progression degree. Academic skills relevant to the specific subject area will be taught to fully prepare them for university study. The pathways are: Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Sciences.

On the BSc (Hons) Business and Marketing degree, the students will learn how companies operate in competitive markets and also learn how they effectively communicate with consumers. This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the leading professional body for marketers. The students will learn about contemporary business and marketing challenges and opportunities. Work with expert academics, industry-leading guest speakers and explore careers in marketing.
